Description:

This is another demonstration of the Open Source Virtual Machine called VirtualBox distributed by Innotek. In this video I am running "Lost" inside IE7, from ABC.COM, atop Windows XP Pro (SP2+), on a Pentium D 2.8Ghz machine, 2.5 GB of ram, 1 GB set aside for the VM.. I tried Lost in HD, but it was too slow, went for the Lo-Res letterbox instead.. Asimilar demo with NetFlix is shown in other demos I did with this VM. The Windows Install took about 2 hours, a bit longer than a regular XP install, but worth the time.. Given I can replicate the entire state of Windows into a "snapshot" and return to that snapshot anytime I want.. Its like having Windows XP without risking anything, I can install anything I want, if anything fails, I can revert to a snapshot when Windows was working.. If I want to, I can make a complete backup of the entire disk and save it to DVD's, and transfer it to another machine (Supposedly) without the VM nor Windows XP ever knowing it had been moved.. So if I have work, I want to take with me, It's likely I can replicate the Disk Image to a USB drive and take either transfer it to my laptop or boot it with my laptop, and Windows XP thinks it's running on the same machine.. What Microsoft would hate for you to know.. THIS... EXISTS!! IT's Open Source!! AND FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!! FOREVER!!!!!
