Raram kanaval 2002 Piwo degre
Group is distinguised for their "prosesyon" sounds, those reminiscent of rara "bands on foot", genre of music brought down generation to generation from our African ancestors. Musical sounds are typically those of ancient drumming rhythms, rara homemade horns, bambou...
Lyrics tackle political issues, express disgust toward the government and the elite class in Haiti; as it is usual with all other rara bands, for they represent the people's voice.
As some of u requested, here's what they're saying. Some lyrics translated:
..[0:56] Oh, oh, oh
Look how cruel those people are
How fragile they are
Look how their heads tell them "change"
But their big arms stay crossed
My friends, what did we do to those people?
My friends, what did we do to those people?
Those people have jumped me
those people have been jumping on me
Poverty is stamping our heads
Talk to them!
Raram say, Talk to them!
Talk to them, I say talk to those people, i say talk to them.
those people have entirely eaten our backs
those people have entirely crushed my country
Talk to these people, I say talk to them
Every year that comes, I say talk to them
You will talk to them, explain to them, and you will them what's going on
oh, oh, oh, look at the mansions these people have
look at the many businesses they have
while the poor can't even find work, my old brother
those people, who are they?
those people, Who are they?
I would like to know who they are.
Instead of fixing the country
those people would rather stay divided
Instead of advancing our culture
those people would rather sell it to people of their choosing
Those people, who are they?
those people, who are they?
I would like to know who they are
I would love to know who they are
Anmwey, i can't go on suffering any longer
It's been so long since we're suffering
It's been years that we've working
Their big arms stay crossed
(those villains are so mean)...
What should I do with these people
(I'm going to judge them)
Judging them, we're going to judge them
What should we do with these people?
Youth, the little country is in your hands
the country is in your hands...
Those people can't stand us
they all want to ruin the country...
Those people have taken the country
they don't want us to advance
Talk to them!
Raram says, talk to them!...
We must all remember all that Raram went through
We must all never forget the humiliation our band has gone through...
We must do everything to go higher
(Anye, those people can't stand me
That's why we must stand strong)
Let's go higher, fanatics!
(Anye, those people have attacked me because we've stood strong)...

Well, u know me well, my faithful little donkey. how was the gallop?
Yes, i care about my subjects very deeply. as long as they're alive, if i so choose, i won't let them forget lakay and the various entertainments they have back there.
P.S.: My granma asked many times about ur aunt whose husband is actually a distant cousin of hers. Can u send me a message so i can at least tell her of her whereabouts? She has been buggin me, but i kept forgetting about that. __________________________________________________ |
