Eeeff ::: Favorites 2007-01-21 14:25:20 I found this to be very "square", it was very obediant to the tempo markings, which is exactly how Rachmaninov would have not wanted it. For example, Rachmaninov had specific instructions to play the end of the Agitato section as quickly as possible, which I didn't find evidant in this performance. Also, if you studied Rachmaninov, you should have known that he was well-known for his habit of constantly adding in dimuendos and accelerendos which is why I say this performance was too "square". __________________________________________________

niccoitaliano ::: Favorites 2007-01-12 18:12:46 You know what, this is absolutely AMAZING! and all you other people who say pointless things like "Oh you should have done it like this" or "Well, thats not how I did it, so it's wrong" or the stupid people who point out all the flaws...seriously, you just make yourself look conceited. Keep up the amazing playing PianoPlaya! __________________________________________________
marteltread ::: Favorites 2007-01-12 04:27:29 I just wanted to say "a job well done" I saw that you took a little criticism but its all good. I myself am a musician but a self-taugt gospel musician out of Chicago and it is really nice to see other pianist doing there thing. I Bless you with Joy and Favor __________________________________________________
REDDOG525 ::: Favorites 2007-01-07 18:55:33 Great playing PianoPlaya123! I have to agree with the over use of the pedal. Perhaps, it just could be the recording. Frankily, I love this Prelude and I play it also, along with my favorite Sergei Rachmaninoff's Op. 23 no. 5. Oh yeah, I am also black, self taught and if I posted my videos, I would be in plan clothes just chilling and playing from the home like you, PianoPlaya123! hoaabie ::: Favorites 2007-01-05 12:42:02 played this song when i finished eight grade. was about hm 14, played it in the church infront of about 1500 persons. that was scary ^^ __________________________________________________
kazuya31 ::: Favorites 2007-01-05 11:18:12 one other thing i noticed is that in the cross hand areas you put a lot of emphasis on the notes that get pressed 3-4 times in a row and thats one of the best ways to play this p1ece. real nice how you can put individual strength on each finger thats something u cant be taught __________________________________________________
simonpacor ::: Favorites 2007-01-04 17:40:12 very good one! __________________________________________________
Sagefrancis01 ::: Favorites 2007-01-02 06:37:45 very well played i started playing this piece 3 days ago and i now realise how talented you need to be to play this, and how much hard work you need to put in. Well done again and keep up the great work. __________________________________________________
allegrissimo ::: Favorites 2006-12-31 15:46:27 Why do you cut the piece a few bars before it ends? Why not play a gradual diminuendo along with rallentando till the final chord? By cutting it up, you completely lose the tension, at least in my opinion. __________________________________________________
kazuya31 ::: Favorites 2006-12-28 11:47:36 sorry but i think at 3:19-3:20 your supposed to play f at the top of the melody right? __________________________________________________ |
