takamizuna ::: Favorites This is an important piece of history, and a wonderful look into the mind of the time. Was it racist? By todays standards yes, but to judge the past with today's morals and principles is to miss entire levels of understanding it. We can look at this and say "Never again must we use racial ideology to justify cruelty to the enemy", but we must not look at this and say that it is "wrong" without first understanding it's place in the times. 07-07-31 13:33:55 __________________________________________________

lachooch71 ::: Favorites These cartoons weren't meant for kids. They were short films which ran in front of feature films or news broadcasts at the time. Like the Simpsons or even Family Guy, Popeye had a lot of social commentary and humor that went right over most childrens' heads. 07-07-20 17:46:28 __________________________________________________
