Description: This is the closest DDR match, anywhere, ever. The is the final round of a Stepmania tournament, where the final song was 28 minutes long. The final scores were: Pickles: 16,496 EvilPeer: 16,497 Just listen to the reactions at the end of the video if nothing else. Thanks to Fo0by who made this file and was announcing it at the beginning of the video. Thanks to Mandi, who filmed this and provided the clips I compiled together into a short video. If you would like to play the original stepfile to this song, you can download it at http://www.rgcanada.com/multimedia/Conferences%20-%202005%20Winter%20(Calgary)/con_sm_tourney.zip And yes, if you're a DDR nerd you noticed that I used a modified DP system for this tournament where boos, misses and freeze arrows had different values. Why? Because there was a general concensus that the DP penalties for a miss or a boo (especially when people call pad boo/misses all the time) are too harsh, so we changed it. (Not to mention that having a freeze arrow worth twice as much as a step was silly too) For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about: Normal DP scoring: Marvellous: 3 Perfect: 2 Great: 1 Good: 0 Boo: -4 Miss: -8 OK: 6 Modified DP system used for this tournament: Marvellous: 3 Perfect: 2 Great: 1 Good: 0 Boo: -1 Miss: -2 OK: 2 This is my favourite moment in Canadian DDR History, enjoy. |

ddrpros ::: Favorites 2007-07-16 02:07:43 so whats up with the cabinet? what type is it? and why does it have sm on it? __________________________________________________
ddrpros ::: Favorites 2007-07-16 02:11:57 ok its a solo cabinet, never mind! but how is sm on it? __________________________________________________
TheOtherFiddler ::: Favorites 2007-07-16 15:11:18 So the final round was an hour? __________________________________________________
SN3S2 ::: Favorites 2007-07-18 19:08:10 It's obviously a solo machine, as you can tell by the up-left and up-right arrows. And they can easily be hacked to run SM, you know. __________________________________________________
ddrpros ::: Favorites 2007-07-18 19:59:42 oh, ive never played on a solo before.. =( __________________________________________________
SN3S2 ::: Favorites 2007-07-18 20:47:31 There's a way to do it. Stepmania. com used to show you how, dunno if it's still there though. __________________________________________________
ddrcrono ::: Favorites 2007-07-22 05:11:01 You're right except about the easy part. The "guide" for converting a machine to SM only works well for 2-player machines, some of the hardware, and thus details are completely different for doing a solo cabinet and a TOTAL pain. I don't recommend doing it on a solo cabinet... __________________________________________________
ddrcrono ::: Favorites 2007-07-22 05:11:12 That's correct. __________________________________________________
TheOtherFiddler ::: Favorites 2007-07-22 11:22:26 That is pretty freakin' epic right there. __________________________________________________
Hattam99 ::: Favorites 2007-07-22 14:30:37 The announcer looks like a huge fruit. __________________________________________________
SN3S2 ::: Favorites 2007-07-23 15:40:35 Ah, didn't know that. Thanks for the info! __________________________________________________
ddrcrono ::: Favorites 2007-07-27 08:46:00 Someone actually once said that my finals are "always epic" XD __________________________________________________
ddrcrono ::: Favorites 2007-07-27 08:46:13 Your insight is greatly appreciated. __________________________________________________
Hattam99 ::: Favorites 2007-07-30 23:14:35 well at least your not cold inside with that big poofy winter jacket and gang bandana protecting your fast from frost bite __________________________________________________
